HARD WATER: The Problem!
Updated: Feb 11, 2018
Since I've been living in California, I have noticed that my hair is riding the struggle bus. Not all the way to school, but just down the block and around the corner. Being the overly protective "naturalista" that I am, I notice any slight change in my hair. As of late, I've noticed that my strands are not retaining moisture as well as they did in Texas.
Originally, I thought it was the products I'd been using. Down South, I used alot of products that contain glycerin which is a humectant. With that in mind, I know that when it's humid, my hair slurps up the moisture in the atmosphere, but when it's dry outside, the moisture in my hair waltzes right on out of there. Considering the drier climate out here, I stopped using those products and switched to others that were humectant-free. My hair was/is STILL acting like it doesn't know how to be soft.
ALAS! MY WATER HAS BETRAYED ME! After further research on the topic I self diagnosed the hard water situation. I have become a victim! CRUEL WORLD! (I'm so melodramatic sometimes).
This is an on going struggle and I will take you with me on my journey to defeat it with inexpensive remedies.
