Hey guys! I literally took out my weave last night and realized that 3 yrs ago today I chopped off my hair.  I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but I can honestly say this was the best decision I've ever made for my mane. Through all of the ups and downs, perfect twistouts, failed wash n gos, "dang it! I didn't let this roller-set fully dry" moments, multiple haircuts, etc.. I'm so glad I kicked the perm to the curb. Who knew this little chocolate girl would be proud to fro it out in public?!

Top 3 things I've learned from my journey that may help my fellow naturals:

1. HYDRATE! Water is my hair's bff.  Drinking plenty of water keeps my hair moisturized and promotes growth.

2. PROTECTIVE STYLES ARE THE KEY! I live for my wigs yall! lol I am also a huge fan of roller sets and twistouts.  You're telling me I can protect these ends AND still be cute?! I'm here for it.

3. BE PATIENT AND ENJOY YOUR OWN JOURNEY!   The moment I started embracing what was growing out of my own head and stopped worrying about the next person's was the moment my confidence skyrocketed! Whether it be length, thickness, or curl pattern, don't forget that EVERYTHING TAKES TIME!  It is SO important to remember to aspire but not envy. That only causes stress and leads to breakage and disappointment. lol  Love your curls, kinks, and coils! Here's to a lifetime of healthy hair.
